The date and time for the dedication of the Fallen Firefighter Memorial has been set for September 30, 2012 and will commence at 1400 hrs. All other details are being worked on and will be communicated when completed. Mark your calendars!..
Dear Firefighters and Friends of Firefighters,
The Minnesota Fire Service Foundation is working with LEO A DALY architects to create a memorial site in honor of fallen firefighters from across the state. This memorial will be located on the grounds of the State Capitol and will be a site for an annual recognition cememony for all those that have given their lives in service to their communities as firefighters.
Our goal is for this memorial to be funded by firefighters, for firefighters – and in order to make that possible, we need your help. If each Fire Department in the state of Minnesota contributes $30 or more for each of their active firefighters, we will raise the $600,000 needed to build this beautiful memorial in honor of our fallen. The goal is to have the necessary funds raised by December 31, 2011. If this goal is not met, all of the donations will be returned and the Memorial initiative will be abandoned.
The Minnesota Fire Service Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization, so all donations are tax deductible.
Sincerely,
George F. Esbensen
President of the Minnesota Fire Service Foundation
