Information for ride on 12 June 2004

Here is the scoop for the MN Chapter 1 June ride to the MSFDA parade in Red Wing on 12 June 2004:

  • We will meet at Point Douglas Park west of Prescott. The park is west of Prescott on the north side of Highway 10. It is just before the bridge going into Prescott. The ride will depart the part at 1100 so plan accordingly to be at the park before 1100.
  • We will then travel down Wisconsin Hwy 35 to US Highway 63 (turning towards Red Wing). We will stop at the Harbor Restaurant and Bar on Hwy 63 (Hager City) for lunch. I am planning on a 1 1/2 hour stop since we will be there at lunch time and won't be able to judge the lunch crowd.
  • We then continue on Highway 63 into Red Wing, then north on Highway 61 to Bay Point Park for the parade. We should have just over an hour before the parade starts.
  • I would like to recommend if you have anything with Red Knights on it to wear that for the parade. If you don't have Red Knights clothing, then wear a Fire Department shirt.
  • A final recommendation for wear is to include a fire helmet if you have one. I think the helmets might help people on the parade route figure out why there is a bunch of motorcycles in the middle of fire trucks. I realize this can be a pain to get your helmet to Red Wing but it should be worth it.

If you have questions, e-mail or call David if you have questions. I look forward to seeing everyone on the ride.

As always, a weather determination will be made later this week. So far I see mixed predictions for Saturday.
