Minnesota Zoo Foundation Ride 'n Roar - 2006

The Minnesota Zoo Foundation is organizing the Zoo's first motorcycle ride fundraiser, Ride 'n Roar, on Saturday, June 10th. The ride begins at Faribault Harley-Davidson and will be followed by a party, including dinner, live music, door prizes, pledge prizes, and a raffle drawing for a 2006 Harley Softail Standard (currently on display at Minnesota Zoo Guest Services). All makes and models are encouraged to participate. We hope you'll help us spread the word to your members, and join us for a great day and beautiful ride.

The registration fee includes the ride, a patch, pin, dinner, and entertainment by the Whisker Fish. The first 100 to pre-register will also receive a free bandana. See the registration form or you can also download them from the Zoo's web site at www.mnzoo.org/guests/SpecialEvents/ride.asp.

Riders are encouraged to raise pledges; everyone who raises $150 or more will receive a prize. The person who raises the most money in pledges will receive a leather Harley-Davidson jacket!

If you're wishing for a new bike, you can buy a raffle ticket for a black 2006 Harley Softail Standard at Minnesota Zoo's Guest Services or at Faribault Harley-Davidson (unfortunately, due to Minnesota gambling laws we are not able to sell raffle tickets over the phone). Raffle tickets are $50 each, and only 1,000 will be sold. You do not need to be present to win.

If you aren't interested in participating yourself, please help spread the word. The event schedule is below; please contact me if you have any questions.

All proceeds raised by Ride 'n Roar 2006 will benefit the Minnesota Zoo's Ulysses S. Seal Conservation Grant Program, which awards small grants to projects promoting the conservation of wildlife and natural ecosystems. Priority is given to projects with a direct link to field-based conservation, but worthy zoo-based conservation research projects are also considered. To receive support, a Minnesota Zoo staff member needs to champion the project. For more information, visit www.mnzoo.org/conservation/International/CAT.

This event is presented in partnership with AFSCME Minnesota Council 5 and Faribault Harley-Davidson.
